Barbecued Turmeric Pepper Kingfish

Flick N Sip Seafood Recipes. his super easy fish recipe can be cooked on the BBQ or pan-fried and served with your favourite side. In this recipe, we use Kingfish and recommend white flesh fish with these flavours.

Seafood
  • 1 kg Kingfish steaks (4 portions)
Spices
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt (maybe a little shy of 1 tsp)
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric, powder
  • 2 tsp Ginger and garlic paste
Liquids / Oils 
  • 2-3 tbsp Olive oil or tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1tsp Water
    Fresh(ish)
    • 1 Curry, leaves
    • 1/2 Lemon juice (Fresh)
    Method 
    • Reserve kingfish, curry leaves and 2 tbsp of oil
    • Add the remaining ingredients into a bowl and mix well until a smooth consistency
    • Slice or tear curry leaves and add to bowl
    • With a sharp knife, slightly slice into the Kingfish flesh (don't cut all the way through)
    • Rub the marinade into each piece of fish until well coated and refrigerate for 30 mins 
    • Pre-heat BBQ (or a pan with oil over low-medium heat), when the oil heats, place fish pieces in batches, cook until golden brown in colour on both sides.
